E Komo Mai Waimānalo
The Waimānalo Mau a Mau Wahipana Project is an initiative dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Waimānalo. This project is a collaborative effort that brings together community voices, cultural practitioners, and researchers to document and uplift the unique stories, traditions, and landscapes of our beloved Waimānalo.
Collaborators: MHPCS, Bishop Museum, DAGS, Hiʻohia Publishing, Kamehameha Schools Publishing, Waimānalo kupuna, and individual community members and supporters.
Check out some photos from our celebration of kupuna moʻolelo on Oct. 25, 2024:
This event was a gathering of the community to honor the kupuna who shared their moʻolelo. Dinner, special entertainment, and the unveiling of the Waimānalo Wahipana website were enjoyed by all. Mahalo nui loa to all our MHPCS staff, parents, students, alumni and partners who helped to make this beautiful event a success!
We would love to continue the collection of Waimānalo kupuna moʻolelo. Please email development@malamahonuapcs.org if you or someone you know may be interested in sharing.
