OVERVIEW
In August 2014 Mālama Honua Public Charter School opened as Waimānalo’s first Public Charter School starting with grades K-2, And in 2020 we begin the 8th grade!
Today’s society demands not only the acquisition of academic skills, but the development of values and characteristics that will lead to compassionate, insightful, and courageous problem solving. Individual and societal success will require cultivating in young people a sense of mālama, astute observational capabilities, and the ability to gain and apply ever-changing information in creative ways. Mālama Honua Public Charter School aspires to cultivate the “mind of the navigator” in individuals, adults and students alike, who are at their core compassionate leaders and stewards of our community.
